Little Flower FestivalIn conjunction with the Cathedral Festival of Flowers, the Little Flower Festival is a showing of floral arrangements by liturgical art & environment ministers from our archdiocesan parishes as well as the work of other floral designers. The showing of these arrangements will take place concurrently with the display in the Cathedral. |

Sacred Treasures of the CathedralThe Cathedral will open its vaults to display rarely seen sacred treasures, some of which have been locked away for 50 or more years. The exhibit will include an intricate Parisian gold chalice from 1883 and a custom-made vestment worn by Pope John Paul II on his Papal visit in 1987. This year, some of the featured treasures will come from California missions and historic churches. |

Cathedral Festival of FlowersCathedral Festival of Flowers was founded in 2007. In 2009, Cathedral Festival of Flowers - The International Year will welcome some of the most renowned floral artists from the Bay Area alongside special guest designers from the Flowers have been used throughout the decades to decorate and enhance the beauty of this architectural wonder atop Cathedral Hill. Floral designers and arrangers from throughout the Bay Area and abroad are coming together for this event to create a breathtaking feast of color and scent. The array of magnificent displays reflect both the splendor of the great bronzes by Italian sculptors, Enrico Manfrini and Mario Rudelli, and the great soaring nineteen story interior. The floral offerings add to the peace and simplicity of the entire worship space. A kaleidoscope of colors meets visitors from the first moment that they enter the great Cathedral doors until they leave. |
